saturday
November 13

On a cold blustery Saturday evening the Bucks and Neshaminy were about to show their respective leagues and the State Of Pennsylvania what High School Football is all about. In a hard fought game that went down to the wire no one could be more disappointed then the Bucks. The Bucks left their heart and soul on the field and gave everything they had. After watching this game I am convinced the best football in the state is played right here in our own back yard. Bucks hold your head high you are number one in our hearts you make us all proud.  The excitement started right from the beginning as the Bucks recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff, it was a great kick by McMonagle who kicked off well all night and great special teams play continued as it had all year. The Bucks then put their strong running game in place led by Tyler Dinnis and Brandon King. C.B. West marched right down the field for their opening touchdown as Dinnis scored his first of four touchdowns on a 4 yard run. Neshaminy would score the next time they touched the ball on a five-yard strike. As the first quarter ended the score was tie at 7-7. You could tell then this game was going down to the wire and that the last team that touched the ball was going to win.
The second quarter had plenty of fireworks the Bucks and Neshaminy both continued to play power football as they marched up and down the field. Dinnis scored his second touchdown of the night on a power 1-yard run. Neshaminy would score the next two touchdowns on a 60 yard run by Coleman and a 1-yard run by Cundari. The Bucks would not give up as we have seen all year, with time running out in the second quarter McMonalge hit Matt Ruane on a 32 yard touchdown pass in the corner of the end zone giving the Bucks hope of winning their first playoff game in more then 4 years. At the end of two Neshaminy held a 21-19 lead.  The Bucks received the opening kick off however they were held to a three and out. Neshaminy then took over the ball they marched 40 yards and scored the first touchdown of the third on a Coleman 11 yard run. The Bucks again did not move the ball the next time they took over, however you could see it was just a matter of time before the offense was put in high gear. With Neshaminy deep in Bucks territory mid way through the third it was first and goal from the five, the Redskins were ready to take a commanding lead when the Bucks came up strong on Defense and held Neshaminy to a 25 yard field goal attempt which Kelly hit. At the end of three Neshaminy held a 31-19 lead. You could see it on the field and sense it in the stands that the Bucks were going to come out in the fourth with everything they had.

The Bucks came out on fire in the fourth they scored the first touchdown of the fourth on a strong one-yard run by Dinnis his third of the night. Leading up to the touchdown were some strong runs and tough offensive line play. The Bucks then kicked off and recovered a Neshaminy fumble. It was a great kick by McMonagle and again great special teams play in recovering the fumble. Again the Bucks took control and marched down the field. With around five minutes left in the game Dinnis scored his fourth touchdown of the night giving the Bucks the lead. The Bucks could smell a victory however so could Neshaminy. With three minutes left in the game Neshaminy scored on a Coleman 16 yard run, again Neshaminy took the lead in a game that was by far one the best-played play off games in several years. With three minutes left the Bucks would dig deep one more time, give it all they had and try to march down the field for the winning score. As the clock hit zero Neshaminy had the edge on the scoreboard and the Bucks season was over.

Bucks hold your heads high; you had a great season in winning the Suburban One American Conference Championship. You played a great Play off game and showed the league and the State what championship football is all about.

 WEST IS BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST
 SUBURBAN ONE AMERICAN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS!!!!

Congratulations go out to the entire C.B.West football team in winning their first ever SOL American league Conference Championship. The Bucks wont stop here, the new season begins this Friday as the Bucks roll into the playoffs with a nine game winning streak and three consecutive shutouts. The next team standing in the way of the Bucks State Title hopes is the Neshaminy Redskins. Good Luck Bucks, you have made everybody proud.

On a cold Friday evening in Willow Grove the Bucks put the final nail in the coffin as they showed the league WEST IS BEST. The Bucks came out and played a strong offensive and defensive game as they have all along during this nine game winning streak.

The Bucks started off the scoring on a 5-yard TD run by Tyler Dinnis his first of five that he would be involved in. With the Bucks pinned deep in their own territory late in the first, Dinnis took a handoff from McMonagle, ran past the entire Upper Moreland D and blitzed down the field for an 85 Yard touchdown. This was the Bucks longest TD run of the year and the teams 5th touchdown run of 50 yards or more for the year. Brandon Navarre also had a key interception. After one the Bucks held a 14-0 lead.

The second would be no different then the first, the Bucks scored their 3rd touchdown on a Dinnis 15 yard reception from McMonagle. Tyler Dinnis returned the favor to McMonagle for the Bucks fourth touchdown when he received a pitch from him, McMonagle went deep with Dinnis throwing a 66 Yard TD pass to McMonagle. Derrick Denard also had a strong first half kicking 4 strong extra points. At the half the Bucks held a 28-0 lead and were on their way to the championship.

Upper Moreland started off with the ball in the third, they held on to the ball for nearly seven minutes on their opening drive, however when push came to shove the Bucks Came up huge. Upper Moreland was about to score and end the Bucks two game shut out streak however the Bucks would not break and held Upper Moreland inside the ten. Strong Buck Defense again prevailed as it has all year. The Bucks did not score in the third but did continue to move the ball. At the end of three, Bucks 28 – 0.

The Bucks would put the final stamp on the game with two more scores in the fourth leading them to their ninth straight victory, third straight shutout and League Championship. Tyler Dinnis scored his 4th TD of the night on a two-yard run and Dave Mastrangelo capped of the game with a strong 39-yard touchdown run. Final score Bucks 40 Upper Moreland 0.

Congratulations go out to the ENTIRE team; this was a total team effort in winning the league Championship. GREAT JOB BUCKS!!!!! GO GET THEM IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!

That would be the only scoring of the third however the Bucks dominated the entire quarter.

In the fourth with the game in hand the Bucks continued to play well on both defense and offense. The Bucks won their 7th consecutive game on Friday evening getting one step closer to their first ever Suburban One American Conference League Title. From the opening kick-off the Bucks were unstoppable, it didn’t matter if it was the run or through the air the Bucks couldn’t be stopped. The defense also continued to play strong as they pitched their first shutout of the year. Congratulations go out to the entire team for playing a complete game.  It was also Senior Night on Friday evening, congratulations go out to all the seniors on the team and way to go out on top in your last regular season game at War Memorial. GOOD JOB!!!!!!!!!

The Bucks started the scoring off early; Tyler Dinnis hit Culum McNeil on a 40-yard option pass down to the Wissahickon 20 early in the first. It was the first time the Bucks used the option pass all year and it worked perfectly. Two plays later McMonagle hit Dinnis on a 20-yard strike putting the Bucks up 7-0, from this point on the Bucks would never look back. The Bucks scored their second touchdown on an inside reverse to Russ Macchione, Macchione rambled 58 yards putting the Bucks up 14. The third score of the quarter came on a perfect touch pass to Dave Mastrangelo, Mastrangelo ran in for a 23 yard score putting the Bucks up 21. At the end of one the Bucks were up 21-0.

The second quarter would be no different then the first, the Bucks defense and offense continued to dominate as it has all year. Brandon King opened up the scoring in the second with a tough 13-yard run putting the Bucks up by 28, however the Bucks were not finished. The Bucks went up by 35 as McMonagle ran in from the two; this was the fifth different Buck to score on the night. The Bucks scored their 6th touchdown of the half when Dave Mastrangelo scored his second touchdown of the night on a 25-yard touchdown reception from McMonagle. At the end of two the Bucks held a 42-0 lead.  The Bucks started of the third quarter no different then the previous two quarters. The Bucks continued to play tough the entire second half nailing down the first shut out of the year.

The Bucks are now 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the league, with two games left the Bucks are in total control of their destiny. If the Bucks win out they will not only win the league championship but will almost certainly be guaranteed a play off spot.  Go Bucks keep the momentum going!!!!!

Upper Merion... 12

friday
OCTOBER 15

The Bucks got one step closer to winning their first ever Suburban One American Conference League title with a very convincing 42-12 victory over Upper Merion. The Bucks continue to show the league they are the team to beat.  With both teams opening drives stalled it looked like it was going to be a very physical bang up game. On Upper Merion’s second possession they marched over 50 yards down to the Bucks 11 when Jeremy Oliphant recovered a Upper Merion fumble, from that point on the Bucks never looked back. The Bucks marched 89 yards for the first touchdown of the game on a 3-yard touchdown run by Tyler Dinnis. At the end of one the Bucks held a 7-0 lead  The Bucks would score another 14 points in the second by a very strong unstoppable running attack. McMonagle scored on a 3-yard run and King scored on a one yard run. The Bucks offensive line played strong again opening up holes for the running game and not allowing any pressure on McMonagle. As the half came to a close the Bucks held a commanding 21-0 lead.

In the third the Bucks would continue to roll, they scored two more touchdowns on Kings second TD of the game on a 6yard run and McMonagle with a huge 75-yard run. Upper Merion also got on the board with a 54-yard touchdown pass. At the end of three the Bucks held a commanding 35-6 lead. The Bucks would score one more time in the 4th on a Dinnis 48 yard scamper. Upper Merion closed out the scoring late in the game on a 23-yard touchdown pass. Final score 42-7 Bucks.  The entire team again played well with everybody contributing to the teams 6th victory. Line domination continues on both sides of the ball led by Cathers, Smith, Malendra, Maloney, and Quedenfeld.  King, Moffett, Navarre, Ruane, Weise, Quedenfeld and Macchione also had good games. West also put up over 450 yards rushing with Dinnis, King and McMonagle all rushing for over 130 yards.

OCTOBER 8

The Bucks traveled to Norristown on Friday evening hoping to go 3-0 in conference play, with a win tonight the Bucks would continue to show the league they are the team to beat. The fireworks started early, as the Bucks were standing under the goal post ready to come out and start play they would get a surprise when PW also game out under the goal post. PW began to instantly talk trash and get in the Bucks face, the Bucks however got the last laugh and walked away with a 35-13 win. The first quarter was played hard and tough by both teams. Both teams had some strong hits and moved the ball well. With the Bucks running game somewhat being shut down in the first half the Bucks went to the air. The only scoring of the first quarter came on a 26-yard strike to Tyler Dinnis from McMonagle. At the end of one the Bucks held a 7-0 lead.

PW tied the score in the second on a 5yd touchdown run that would be the closest PW would get the remainder of the evening. The air attack of West would dominate in the second quarter, McMonagle threw two more touchdown passes in the quarter, the first one on a beautiful 25 yd touchdown pass to McNeill the second an 11 yd strike to Dinnis. McMonagle would end the half at 8-8, 152 yards passing and three touchdowns. At the end of two the Bucks held a commanding 20 –7 lead. With the start of the second half you could see the Bucks were in command, their ground game would now take control and wear down PW. Both the D Line and O Line were having good games giving the Bucks plenty of time to throw and open up holes to run. The defense continued to put pressure on PW. The only scoring of the third quarter came on a Dinnis 10 yard run. At the end of three the Bucks lead 28-7.

The Bucks would continue to run the ball in the fourth Tyler Dinnis picked up his 4th touchdown of the game with a strong 38 yard run. PW would score late in the game but it was to little to late. Final score 35-13 Bucks.  Up next for the Bucks is Upper Merion both teams are 5-1 and 3-0 in the league, the winner of this came would be a hands on favorite to win the league. Go Bucks!!!!!!!!!

CHELTENHAM ... 14

THURSday
September 23

The Bucks headed down to Cheltenham Thursday afternoon in hopes of ruining the league opener for Cheltenham. This would be the Bucks first league game in the newly-formed American Conference. A win today would show the rest of the league the Bucks are here to stay and a team to be dealt with in the future.

The Bucks came out very flat on the opening drive; they were forced to punt giving Cheltenham fairly good field position. On Cheltenham’s first drive they marched down the field to take a 7-0 lead on a 12-yard touchdown pass. This would be Cheltenham's only score and drive of the entire day until late in the game. At the end of one quarter the score was 7-0 Cheltenham.

As the second quarter started you could see the momentum switching to the Bucks; this would lead to 24 unanswered points. The Bucks scored their first touchdown with a 3-yard run by Brandon King.  King ran hard all day picking up a total of 52 tough yards with two rushing TDs and one receiving TD. On the next drive, Cheltenham fumbled on their own five, the ball was recovered by West, and two plays later King scored on a one-yard run. The Bucks scored their third touchdown of the quarter on a 15-yard strike from McMonagle to Dinnis, who made a spectacular one-handed grab. The Bucks again scored on a last second 40-yard field goal by Joe McMonagle. At the half the score was 24-7 West.

In the third quarter, the Bucks continued to play strong defense as they have all season long. Jeff Moffett, Brandon King and Brandon Navarre (all previous ax master award recipients) were all having strong games. The line, linebackers and Dbacks have all played well during the season and today was no different. At the end of three 24-7 Bucks.

The Bucks score two more times in the fourth.  McMonagle hit King for a 12-yard strike and McMonagle finished it up with a 12-yard dash to the end zone. Cheltenham score late but the game was already over ... final score:   38 –14 Bucks.

Shane Green, Ray Eichenlaub, Doug Maloney, Chas Cathers, Brandon Smith, Mike Malendra, Cassey Quedenfeld and Joe Dinardo all played strong on the O Line and D line. Wes O’Kula, Jeremy Oliphant and Dave Mastrangelo also saw time and played well.

Russ Macchione returned full strength after having his cast removed the day before; he had 80 total yards of offense, played D, and recovered a fumble.

The hit of the day occurred when Matt Weiss went head to head with a Cheltenham player. The hit was so loud you could hear it in the stands. Matt Ruane played a strong game as well at Dback covering two of the best receivers in the league. GO BUCKS!!!

The much-anticipated match up between the Bucks and the Patriots was finally here. The Bucks were looking to snap their two game losing streak to East.  With a win tonight, the Bucks would have beaten both East and South and have a 2-1 record heading into league play.

Even though the score didn’t show it at halftime, the Bucks dominated this game from start to finish. Both the offensive and defensive lines had huge games and the running game was unstoppable. The defense of the Bucks swarmed to the ball all evening and came up with several big stops.

The Bucks scored on their opening drive taking up over 12 minutes of clock. West ran the ball 17 consecutive times.  On the 18th play, Joe McMonagle hit Tyler Dinnis for a 14-yard touchdown pass. After one quarter, the score was 7-0 West.

The Bucks continued to play well in the second quarter.  They were dominating the time of possession and playing very tough on both sides of the ball; however, the halftime score would be 7-7. With a little over five minutes left in the second quarter, the Patriots got on the board with a 21-yard pass from Brian Trymbiski to Will Veix.

East took a 14-7 lead in the third quarter but you could still sense the Bucks were going to explode. As the third quarter was about to end, the explosion went off.  Brandon King took the hand off from McMonagle and ran for a 61-yard touchdown. At the end of three, the score was tied at 14.

The fourth quarter was all the Bucks. Special teams played a huge role with West recovering both a fumbled punt and kickoff. Brandon Navarre scored a one-yard touchdown giving the Bucks the lead, and then it was McMonagle's turn to put the Bucks up 14 on a strong one-yard run up the middle. Joe McMonagle put the finishing touch on with his 33-yard touchdown run as the clock wound down. Final score WEST 35 – EAST 14.

Line domination on both sides of the ball were led by Doug Maloney, Chas Cathers, Brandon Smith, Mike Malandra and Zack DeVitis on offense. On the defensive line Joe Dinardo, Chas Cathers and Casey Quedenfeld turned in strong performances.

Joe McMonagle also received the player of the game award; Joe paid high praise to the line, backfield and entire team.
