Stats from the Council Rock South game, Octoberr 20th. 2007

CB West / Council Rock South Highlights

Due to some rainy weather on Friday night, the Bucks vs. the Golden Hawks game was moved to Saturday afternoon at Council Rock North stadium.  It was a beautiful day for football.  The Hawks took the opening kickoff and marched down and scored to take a 7-0 lead.  The Bucks answered with a nice drive of their own, with a combination of the run and the pass and looked like they were going to score, but a penalty on 3rd and short pushed the Bucks back into 3rd and long, which they could not covert.  A field goal try just missed.  The Hawks took advantage of this defensive stop and went on to score on their next two drives, the final one coming with less than a minute left in the first half to take a 21-0 lead into the locker room for the half.

On the Bucks first possession of the second half, the Hawks came up with a big defensive play with an interception and return of 49 yards for a TD to take a 28-0 lead.  But the Bucks who kept fighting all game long, came right back with a nice drive, which was capped by the now familiar TD combo of Gazda to Brown for 11 yards and a TD, to make it 28-7.  But the Hawks would respond as well with two more TDs to take a 42-7 lead and start the Mercy Rule clock.  The Bucks kept fighting even though they were now fighting the clock as well and put together another nice drive, which was capped by a nifty 22 yard run by Ryan O’Kula.  The Bucks kicked an onsides kick which was recovered.  And on the second offensive play after the recovery, Matt Fitz broke a 50 yard run off-tackle to cap the scoring for the Bucks.  The final score was CRS 42 and the Bucks 21.
