This was a tale of two different games in one. In
the first half the Bucks played spectacularly on
both sides of the ball and slugged it toe to toe
with one of the best teams in the league. After not
being able to move the ball on their first
possession, the Bucks answered the Hatters first
touchdown with a nice drive of their own with a good
mix of the pass and the run. The Bucks brought it
to within one on a 7 yard run by Matt Fitz to make
the score 7-6. The heavyweight title ensued with
the Hatters answering on their next possession to
take a 14-6 lead. But Bucks got up off the mat and
put together another nice drive capped by a 2 yard
run by Teddy Conrad and the two point conversion, a
nice pass from Chris Gazda to Palmer Brown, tied the
score at 14. An this is how they went into the
half.
Then in the second
half, it looked a totally different game, as the
Hatters came and scored 35 unanswered points to walk
away with a 49-14 win. After the Bucks generated
150 yards of offense in the first half, they were
only able to muster 47 yards on 16 plays.
