Welcome to Coach Felton's Page

                                                                                                                                                                   April 3, 2005

Coach Felton had spent four seasons as an assistant to Randy Cuthbert, most recently as the Bucks’ defensive coordinator, line coach and assistant head coach.  Felton, 29, was formally introduced during a press conference at the school on Friday April 1st
“I’m very excited,” Felton said. “I think most important, I’m very proud of the players.  They went through the process, and attendance in the weight room has been phenomenal.

West has a history unlike virtually any other program in Pennsylvania, a reputation as a national power. It’s very special and it’s exciting,” Felton said.  “I certainly have large shoes to fill with Coach Pettine, Coach Carey and Coach Cuthbert. What does that make me, the fourth coach in CB West history.  There’s a tremendous commitment to excellence to be upheld, and I recognize that.”
Felton played outside linebacker at West for three seasons until he graduated in 1995.  He later played linebacker and strong safety at Gettysburg College, where he spent one season as an assistant defensive line coach before coaching the linebackers and wide receivers at Pennridge in 2000.  Felton came to West in 2001, and he coached several positions before he was tapped to be defensive coordinator in 2003.  Last year he added the duties of line coach and was also given the title of assistant head coach.
”It’s an honor to be part of this program,” Felton said, ”and to continue to be a part of this program, and to go to work with these great kids.”  “Pressure is good.” Felton said. “We welcome the pressure. …I wouldn’t accept the job if I wasn’t confident that we have players that can meet my expectations.  It’s important that people realize that this team isn’t Chris Felton’s team; this team is the players’ team.  It’s important that these players have a healthy understanding that there are tremendously high expectations, but at the same time the only expectations they need to worry about are the expectations that they have for themselves.”

“We’ve always had players that have had great character.  We’ve always had the support of the Parents’ Club, we’ve always had the support of the administration, and we’ve always had players that have worked their hardest to be the best they can be.  So quite honestly, things have never changed.”
