Added...Please note that the charity car wash scheduled for 4/25 is cancelled.
It will be rescheduled in June – this year, the coaches and players will be teaming up with CB South and CB East to support the athletes that were paralyzed this year. To show our team support, each school will be hosting a car wash in their territory on the same day. As soon as the date and location has been verified, you will be notified immediately to mark your calendars.

Added...Note from Coach Hensel regarding updated practice schedule beginning April 7th.
The Spring Program will kick in this Tuesday. With this new program, ALL team members will lift together and do the same routine.  With the multi-faceted team that we have regarding spring sports,  we as a staff have decided to bring everyone together at 5:30 PM for a lift that should take no more than 75 minutes.  This gets the kids out of the school before 7 PM.  The non in-season athletes will do Pilates at 4:45 to warm up for the lift while the in-season guys will come directly from their in-season sport and join the team for the 5:30 PM lift starting time.  Players can take advantage of “STUDY HALL AFTER SCHOOL” in the downstairs meeting room from 3:00 – 4:30 and/or do pass drill work on their own and/or with coaches as they are available.  We believe this will put our team in the best position to be successful this season.  We are asking for a sincere and full Saturday morning commitment from the boys so that we can install our offensive and defensive packages as a group. We will have times when some guys won’t be available, but the train has to leave the station on time.

Mike Pettine Jr. Defensive Coordinator	Jim O’Neil Defensive Quality Control

Mike Pettine, Jr.
The New York Jets announced 1/21/09 that Mike Pettine has been hired as defensive coordinator.  The announcement was made by head coach Rex Ryan.  "Mike Pettine is a rising star in this league," said Ryan.  "He played a key role for us in Baltimore and we're fortunate that he's able to join us with the Jets."  Pettine spent the last four seasons coaching the outside linebackers for the Baltimore Ravens and has been with the Ravens organization since 2002.  In the past four seasons, the Ravens defense finished 5th (2005), 1st (2006), 6th (2007) and 2nd (2008) in the NFL.  In 2006, the defense allowed only 201 points and 264 yards per game.  The Ravens 2008 defense allowed 261.1 yards per game, finishing second overall in the NFL.  The 2008 Ravens allowed 244 points, third fewest in the NFL and led the NFL with 34 takeaways, 26 interceptions and a league-low 60.6 opponents' passer rating.  Baltimore also yielded a league-low four rushing touchdowns.  Pettine coached high school football in Pennsylvania at North Penn and Wlliam Tennent High Schools after working as a graduate assistant for Johnny Majors at the University of Pittsburgh (1993-94).  He also spent four years as an assistant coach for his father, Mike Pettine, Sr., at Central Bucks West High School.  Pettine, Sr. retired as the winningest high school coach in Pennsylvania, posting a record of 326-42-4 in 33 seasons.  Pettine played free safety at the University of Virginia, graduating in 1987, after earning all-state honors as a quarterback and defensive back for his dad at Central Bucks West.

Jim O'Neil
Jim O'Neil (Towson University, 2001) spent the last three seasons serving as recruiting coordinator and safety coach at Eastern Michigan University.  In 2005, he was the defensive coordinator, defensive backs coach and punt return coach at his alma mater.  From 2003-2005, he was a graduate assistant at Northwestern.  In 2002, he was an assistant offensive line coach at Penn, which won the Ivy League title.  Prior to his time with the Quakers, he was an assistant offensive line/tight end coach at Albany.  A native of Philadelphia, he played at Central Bucks West High School where Jets defensive coordinator Mike Pettine was an assistant coach and was later a three-year starter as a defensive end at Towson.

Added...Brian Hensel named new coach at CB West
Monday, Central Bucks West announced that Hensel, 40, would replace Chris Felton as the Bucks' coach, the fifth man to hold the job in the once-storied program's history and fourth since Mike Pettine retired after the 1999 season.

Chris Felton resigns as football coach at Central Bucks West.
Chris Felton submitted his resignation to school administrators last week before meeting with his players Monday afternoon.  Felton said the decision was his and his alone.  “I've decided to turn the page,” he said. “Change is good for everybody.”  Athletic director Sean Kelly said the job has been posted.  The school does not have a successor in mind.

Added...The golf committee has started planning our annual golf event.  This will be held at Five Ponds Golf Course on Thursday June 26th.  This is the first full week off after school has let out.  It has been a very good fund raising event for us and is well supported by the business community and Alumni.  Last year Eagles play by play man Merrill Reese was our guest speaker.  We need members for our committee from the incoming 10th. grade class as well as a few more from the 11th. and 12th. grade classes.  There are many different ways you can support this outing.  You can get golfers to play, sponsors for the tees, door prizes, even breakfast and lunch sponsors as well as a host of other volunteer methods.  The day of the event we will need help with breakfast, registration and overall event operations.  This is one of our better fundraisers over the past two years.  Over the next weeks and months you will hear from us from Email, phone, meetings and web site updates.  Any questions please contact Steve Ruane @ 215-230-0801 or Email Steve Ruane.

Added...This Friday night's home game VS William Tennent (Oct. 12) is our breast cancer awareness night.  The CB West players will be wearing pink wrist bands and we will have "pink ribbon" items for sale at the clothing table.  Also several of Marge Bullock's great action pictures from previous games will be offered in a silent auction.  All proceeds will benefit the "Susan B. Komen For the Cure Foundation."   In addition, we are encouraging all fans to forgo their traditional black and gold and "wear your pink" to the game.  Thank You to all our fans for supporting this great foundation!!!

Added...It has just come to our attention that tomorrow's All Star game is being dedicated to Lt. Colby Umbrell, age 26, who lost his life in Iraq in early May.   Lt. Umbrell played for Coach Greene at CB East.
Prior to passing away in the line of duty, Lt. Umbrell solicited people to donate school supplies and had them shipped over to Iraq.   The Lions Club (who sponsors the All Star Game)  wants to honor Lt. Umbrell by asking everyone who attends the game to bring new school supplies and drop them in the bins that will be at the gates at the All Star Game.   Lt. Umbrell's parents have agreed to bundle up the supplies and ship them over to Iraq.
Any supplies that you can donate will be greatly appreciated and it is a great way to honor Lt. Umbrell for all he did for our country and our community.
Thank you and we will see you at the All Star game.

Added...The CB West car wash on Saturday which benefited "Autism Speaks TM." was a GREAT SUCCESS.  The charity car wash was warmly received by the community, who had nothing but terrific things to say about our 25 team participants (from 9th through 12th grade) who worked, SO HARD, and the charity theme that they chose .  For Autsim SpeaksTM, the C. Added...CB West grad Steve Moll was named to ESPN the Magazine's Academic All-District Football Team and was also named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team.  Steve, a sophomore, started every game at center last season for Rhode Island.

The South scored the winning touchdown with 12 seconds left on the clock, in the Bob Sands Memorial Bucks County Loins All-Star Football Classic.  Congratulations to Joe McMonagle for being named MVP for the North, Joe rushed for 33 yards and passed for 206 yards and 3 TD’s.  Tyler Dinnis had 132 yards receiving and 2 TD’s.  Also Doug Malony received the Sportsmanship award, and Kaitlyn Hamilton received the Cheer award.  Congratulations to all of our West representatives Joe McMonagle, Tyler Dinnis, Brandon Navarre, Jeff Moffett, Matt Ruane, Derek Denard, Cullum McNeil, and Doug Maloney.  I will be adding pictures as soon as possible...meanwhile Marge Bullock has posted all the pictures on her web site.
